Sasha Althouse
Educational Bio
I have my bachelor’s degree in Special Education from California University of Pennsylvania. I have my master’s degree in Curriculum and Design from Wilkes University. I also have my high school English certification and my Reading Specialist certification.
I began my teaching career here at Penns Valley. This is my twenty-second year teaching at PVHS. I currently teach the Read 180 classes for grades 7-12.
I am also the Transition Coordinator for the Penns Valley High School. I help to coordinate activities for learning support students to help pursue their postsecondary and employment goals. I refer students to OVR (The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.)

Communication
There are many different ways that we communicate information to parents. First, the PV website has a school calendar that can access school events including sporting events. The school district also sends letters and phone alerts home for special events/concerns. The Skyward grading portal can be accessed by both students and parents for up-to-date grades. There is also the Schoology Learning Platform that all Read 180 classes will be using.
