Flexible Instructional Days

According to the Penns Valley Area Teacher Handbook:

"A Flexible Instructional Day (FID) can be utilized in cases when circumstances (e.g., a
disease epidemic, a hazardous weather condition, a law enforcement emergency, the
inoperability of school buses or other equipment necessary to the public school entity’s
operation, damage to a school building, or a temporary circumstance rendering any portion of
a school building unfit or unsafe for use) prevent the delivery of instruction in its customary
manner or location. FIDs are considered school days and count toward the number of instructional days/hours
required under Article 15 of the Public School Code and Chapter 11 of the state Board of
Education regulations."

In the case of a FID, please log into our classroom Schoology page (see links in the menu for each class access code, if needed) and Zoom for class by the regular class starting time. Additionally, I will be available through Zoom for office hours between 2:39 pm to 3:15 pm (or anytime as requested by students). Paper copies of the assignments will be given to those students with limited or no internet access (they will also be available to download through Schoology under the "Flexible Instructional Day" Folder). Students may also call in via Zoom.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me at any time!
