Flexible Instructional Day (FID) Expectations

FIDs will be called when there is an anticipated school closure with at least 48 hours’ notice. Lessons will be prepared and shared with students live via Zoom.

  • Students with unreliable internet are expected to download all required materials ahead of time as directed.

  • Students are expected to sign into Zoom at the beginning of class following their normal daily schedule.

  • Attendance will be taken in the Zoom room and instruction will be provided.

  • If a student has unreliable internet already documented with the district, Zoom attendance is not required.

**All assignments are due by the end of the day on a FID, or the following day for students with unreliable internet who cannot submit work virtually.**

Class Schedule
My class schedule varies by individual student and changes daily based on services, needs, and rotations.
A personalized schedule will be emailed to both parents and students and updated as needed.

Virtual Instructional Day (VID) Expectations
VIDs are used when there is a school closure without advanced notice. Students are not required to attend Zoom sessions at specific times. Classwork will be assigned for students to complete during the VID.
If students need assistance or have questions, I will be available during the following times:

Office Hours (VID)
Morning: 9:00 AM
Afternoon: 12:00 PM
During these times, I will be available via Zoom for extra help or questions.


Check-In Availability
I will be available throughout the day for students to check in via Zoom or email with quick questions.
Students may also include Ms. Zerby on email so our team can assist:

VID Assignment Expectations
Assignments for a VID are due within 2 days of the VID.

  • All students will have a work folder with assignments in their backpack. Please keep this folder so that students have materials ready to work from on VID days.

  • Attendance for the class on a VID is based entirely on work completion.
