Writing and Composition

Writing & Composition is a course designed for students interested in studying and experimenting with the structures of short stories, poetry, nonfiction prose, and essays. In this class, students will analyze a variety of literary forms, discover authors whose styles appeal to them, and compose a number of original pieces. Because reading and writing are inextricably bound (to be a good writer, one needs not only to write often, but to read regularly as well), independent reading will play a large role in this course.
