Homework /Resources

Projects

Projects are based on the course that is taken. For example in materials processing the projects are assigned, while in wood processing the students build a project of their choosing as long as it meets the required criteria. This is all explained in the first day of class.

Homework

Homework is limited due to the fact that most classes are using software, machines, and materials that is not available to students outside of school. There are times when students will need to write or research items outside of class which will be communicated to them.

Tests and exams

All of the courses that I teach include finals exams which cover the content from the course. These are reviewed for and key study items are given prior to the test. Tests may also be project or skill based not just written. For example I may ask students to identify wood joints in a piece of furniture, or to show me how to properly set up the welder to weld two pieces of metal.

Textbooks

When a textbook is needed it is provided for the students. The textbooks stay in the room and do not travel home with the students unless homework is assigned out of them. Sometimes I teach two of the same classes in the same semester and we do not have enough books to assign to everyone.

Resources

Below are a few resources students and parents may reference for further information about some of the content I cover in my classes.
